Do you practice gratitude daily?
I only ask because it is one of the most important, life-changing things that you can do. Whether you do it when you first wake up (it is such a wonderful way to start the day), or before you go to bed at night, write down at least 5 things that you are grateful for. 5 things that make your day even just a little bit better. 5 things that make you smile. Do this every day and I promise you will love the changes you begin to see in the world around you, and yourself.
I love to start my mornings with an attitude of gratitude. Starting each day with thankful thoughts helps brighten everything around you. It will brighten your outlook on the day. It will brighten your mood. It can even help brighten the mood of those around you. And when you make a habit of starting each day with a grateful and positive mindset, good things will begin to happen.
For me, gratitude begins with our father in heaven. Without God, nothing would be possible. Every breath we take and every morning we open our eyes is because of Him. I start every day with a thankful heart because of the chance He gives me. The chance to be better than I was yesterday. The chance to trust in Him and the plan He has for my life. The chance to share my story and share His love.
"Having gratitude and not expressing it is like buying a gift for someone and not giving it"
Another great way to practice gratitude daily is to speak it out loud. Share the things you are grateful for. Give them a voice. I am grateful for the many ways in which God touches my life. I am grateful for friends and family and my beautiful gran-giggles. I am grateful for each and every one of you that share in this journey with me.
Each of us is given the chance daily to choose the type of life we want. To choose how we view the world around us. When you develop an attitude of gratitude in your approach to every day, the world around you will change. I know it is not always easy, but make it a habit. Practice gratitude daily. Be thankful for all the small things that make this life worth living. Be thankful for the roof over your head and the food on your table. Be thankful for time with family and conversations with friends. Be grateful for every sunrise and sunset.
In order to keep growing, to keep moving towards the life you want, gratitude is necessary. I am grateful that I made the choice to practice gratitude daily. It has brought so many amazing changes in my life and will do the same for you. It will allow you to see the world in a different light and gain more appreciation for all the wonderful things around you.
I pray that everyone can think of something to be grateful for today. Remember, when you brighten your thoughts, you brighten the whole world around you!
